Honor Langston's character

Physical Appearance:

Standing at 4'9" Honor has always been one of the shortest people she knows, a fact that she is very self-conscious about. Growing up as a social outcast, she never gave much thought to her appearance, which is reflected even today. She wears large, black-framed prescription glasses, despite her owning a pair of contacts. Her face is rather average for a female human, with her nose standing out as slightly bulbous depending on the angle you view her from. Her eyes are a deep emerald green, and remain make up free unless she is going to a meeting or some other special occasion. Honor's hair is her proudest point, which she will make known by openly complimenting it, but despite this she still doesn't give it the attention it deserves. She doesn't prefer any hairstyle, and will usually go with super long hair or super short, depending on her mood. Her attempts to keep the static filled mess are usually ended in frustration, so she either keeps it back in braid or pony tails, or if she is in a really bad mood will just let it run wild.

Her clothing style could be described as haphazard as best. Since she never had a female figure in her life to show her the ropes of being a woman, her clothes have never fit in. Although she does choose stylish clothes, she believes that they never look good on her. Mostly her wardrobe consists of graphic t-shirts, flannel button up shirts, jeans, and sneakers. For work she does keep around a few pairs of black or gray dress pants, one or two skirts, and a couple blouses. Make up wise she keeps her face clean since, once more, she had nobody to show her how the stuff works. Her last attempt at wearing mascara ended up leaving her with the entire left side of her face covered in the stuff, and giant clumps on her eyelashes.

Personality:

Honor is a very sensual person, and is keenly in tune with the way things look, taste, sound, feel and smell. She has a strong aesthetic appreciation for art and is talented in the piano, guitar, and drawing. Although she doesn't mean to, Honor can come across as an arrogant and cold person because of her social awkwardness and slight belief that she is a perfect being. She is quiet and reserved, making it difficult to get to know her or make conversation besides your basic small talk. Since she is so socially awkward, she appreciates people who take the time to understand her, and can make a really great friend when she has gotten used to these people. Although she may seem aloof and lighthearted, she takes life very seriously and is constantly thinking about her future and the futures of others. Honor can display a cynical and sarcastic side of her, though mostly only in joking. When she isn't kidding around, Honor can become a very viscous person and will dredge up old grudges in order to try and 'get back' at whoever she is arguing with.

History:

Honor spent the first ten years of her life in South Korea, where her parents, who were both involved in the military, were stationed. Her mother was an emergency nurse and as such was constantly at the hospital, and her father was a soldier who was always out on drills and what not. Even though times were relatively peaceful, her family seemed to always be too busy to raise Honor, whom they had named after a quality both parents respected deeply. So Honor decided to raise herself, and became a fiercely independent person. She became very close to the South Korean culture, and when it was time for her family to return to America, she decided she wanted to come back to Korea again.

When the Hortins returned to America, her parents attempted to pick up raising their daughter where the child had left off, but at this point it was too late. So her parents instead accepted Honor's independence and watched her from the side lines as she piloted the plane of her life. Unfortunately, when puberty hit at the age of thirteen, Honor wasn't ready for the hectic life of Junior High and her own bodies changes, and with neither parent entirely sure how to react to their daughter's sudden mood swings, the raging demon of Honor drove everyone away from her. During this time, Honor's mother gave birth to a baby boy named Dimitri.

Honor has often mused over what may have happened to her, and the family, if Dimitri hadn't come into their family. Most times she comes to the conclusion that they would have split apart entirely, and her life would have turned out very different. This baby boy helped avert such a disaster, though, by calming down the inner turmoil of his big sister. After the first time Honor made him cry in a spurt of rage, she instantly simmered down and rushed to comfort Dimitri, who took to her instantly. Determined to be a good sister for her brother, Honor calmed herself down and began raising her baby brother alongside her parents.

When Honor was in her Junior year of high school, she came across a teaching program designed to send teachers to other countries to teach their native language. Instantly Honor knew that this was what she wanted to do, and she began to take as many AP classes as she could in order to get her college out of the way early. Once she graduated High School, she moved on to college, and then the specific teaching program she had been interested in. The teaching program was in a city called Evanelle, New York, a place Honor had previously never heard of but which she decided to go to anyway. Once she arrived she decided to take a job at Evanelle High as a Korean teacher until she was able to get a job in Korea.

Other: She loves shooting guns, and would always go with Dimitri and her father. She also has a miniature Australian shepherd puppy named Silhaeng, after the Korean word for run.
